 Crouch and Fitzgerald Theatrical Trunk .
We have been very fortunate to come across this rare trunk form. It is a theatrical trunk made by the firm of Crouch and Fitzgerald. C&F made the finest trunk in this country and this is one of them. It is extremely heavy duty because it was made to be used constantly, packed and unpacked on a daily basis if need be. Travel to town to town, where ever the show went this trunk followed.
Notice the double and triple reinforcing on the corners and edges. Also observe the embossed copper lip around the inside of the trunk bottom. This was added to preserve the edges from constant loading and unloading. It has the original double solid brass working locks for extra security. One of the nicer features of this trunk is the hide-away stay with its brass slot, another hallmark of a finely made trunk such as a Louis Vuitton or Goyard.
A drop down, divided, covered tray and a solid brass makers plate on the front round out the quality workmanship of this fine trunk. It has been completely restored by our craftsmen, is a very handy medium size, and is ready for use in your home, office, or roadshow.
