|  Rare Brass Bound Half Trunk .
Half trunks are scarce enough but to find a brass bound half trunk is a very unusual event. So when our picker friend, Mike, showed up with this trunk we were rather excited.
This trunk has the original working lock with key. That in itself is quite something because this type of lock was often popped open when the key was lost and the locks were often discarded.
The top is gently curving so it could be used as an end table or it would be quite nice for storing family photographs. The many copper buttons nicely offset the brass banding and the very rich, mellow color of the 150 year old pine.
