| Nice early brass bound trunk.
There really aren't enough words to give proper credit to this trunk. It is the nicest early leather covered brass bound trunk we have ever had. All of the original embossed leather covering is intact after all these years. This fine example also retains all of it original brass buttons as well as the handles, brass banding and fancy trick lock patent dated 1854.
We assigned this trunk to our Master Craftsman, Sylvain, because we felt it needed the best possible restoration. Needless to say, Sylvain came through with flying colors. His work on restoring the leather is unsurpassed. And the rest of the trunk followed suit.
This is a rare, museum quality trunk that you will never find again. Without a doubt, this trunk falls into a catagory that holds but a handful of trunks that we have had over the last 35 years.
We have sealed and relined the interior so that you may use it for your finest linens or perhaps to hold you keepsake photographs.
Special thanks to Deerfield Leathers for the museum quality leather banding.
